When: February 23, 2016 3:30 pm (Eastern Standard Time)
OneWorld Classrooms is a nonprofit whose mission is to build bridges of learning and understanding between local and global classrooms through the arts and technology. Director Paul Hurteau will inform workshop participants about how they can involve their classrooms/youth groups in the K-12 Global Art Exchange, through which students share original art with each other and complete follow-up conversations via VoiceThread and Skype. Since 2009, over 25,000 students from 65 countries have participated in the program and another 250,000 students have seen program art displays in their schools. The workshop will be co-facilitated by VoiceThread’s instructional designer, George Haines. George is a former K-12 teacher and higher ed instructional designer who has taught a variety of online courses.
